In This Life

My children are grown
My grandchildren are lovely
I guess I am blessed

Xmas Bush

It is cold outside.
Winter time in the desert,
Little bird resting.

Somehow

Suddenly, last night,
The shoulder clicked into place.
Ending months of pain

Fall Tears

Cool autumn evening.
Backyard trees ready to shed
Summer's green splendor.

While in Phoenix

There, they celebrate
hot, sizzling temperatures
great sense of humor

Strange city vistas
unfamiliar roads, places
what an adventure

My co-workers, friends
dancing freely on the floor
that Saturday eve

August

Rumbling, Proclaiming
The short-lived August showers
Washing desert clean

Unusual Sunday

Scent of petrichor
greets me when I open door
watching rain come down

Strange desert summer
cold rain, hail,thunder,lightening
town is in the dark

No lights, or TV
no computer or CDs
just that radio

Sitting in the porch
softly rocking back and forth
searching for some news

nothing to report
some old music, country, rock,
people talking shop

Rain keeps coming down
we sit quietly, relaxed
Sunday in the dark

Summer of Twenty-O-Three

Middle of the night
lifting my eyes to the sky
watching Mars go by

That dog keeps barking,
while I watch Mars going by
its two fifty-one

Weekend

Saturday morning
long list of errands, awaits
first I'll have breakfast

Sunday afternoon
God's masterful creation
Ah...weekly solace

Full Flower Moon

Through kitchen window
Surprisingly, I find, full,
flower moon, watching

Flower moon, watching
calling me outside, after
the evening chores

The evening chores
boring, done and forgotten,
this sweet mid-May night

This sweet mid-May night...
sitting outside, enjoying
cool breeze and moonlight

Cool breeze and moonlight,
just like I were dreaming them
through kitchen window

Summer of '99

Beyond clear windows,
after white corridor,
birds fly, soft breeze sways.

Along corridor,
shadowed by climbing roses,
chimes sing, windfall song.

My bedroom window
frames gold, bright greens and sweet pinks...
Bob's summer garden.

Natalie's Haiku

Infinite blue sky
golden colors of orange
fatal sky of dusk
